Pre wedding couple portraits at Calicut, Kerala

Tucked away in Muchukunnu, on the outskirts of Kozhikode, the Kottayil Shiva Temple gave us a setting rich with quiet, sacred character — the kind of backdrop that adds depth to a pre-wedding shoot without needing much else around it.

We worked with the temple’s traditional architecture and calm, unhurried atmosphere to frame candid portraits of the couple, letting the textures of the space — old stone, courtyard light, the stillness of the grounds — do much of the storytelling. It’s a location that photographs differently depending on the hour, and we planned around the light rather than the clock.

The result is a pre-wedding story that feels distinctly rooted in Kozhikode’s character — traditional, understated, and quietly beautiful.
