This wedding brought us to Kolkata for a couple who’d travelled from the
USA to celebrate their Bengali wedding surrounded by family, tradition, and
the city’s unmistakable winter charm.
We began with a pre-wedding shoot in Kolkata’s iconic Maidan — its open grounds and old-world backdrop giving the portraits a timeless, cinematic quality that felt true to the city itself. From there, the celebrations moved home for an intimate Mehendi and Haldi, full of colour, laughter, and family close enough to reach out and touch.
The wedding itself unfolded over two days, culminating in a joyful, traditional Bengali ceremony rich with ritual and emotion. Documenting it all — from quiet home moments to the grandeur of the main event — was a reminder of how differently, and how beautifully, each region in India celebrates love.
