Chettinad weddings hold a special place in our hearts. Deeply rooted in century-old Nagarathar traditions, vibrant color palettes, and warm hospitality, documenting a wedding in the heart of Sivagangai district is always an extraordinary experience.
Our connection with the bride, Seetha, began years prior when we photographed a wedding in her extended family. As an entrepreneur running a traditional saree label, Seetha brought a refined eye for textiles, colors, and heritage details to every element of her wedding planning.
Preserving Heritage & Ancestral Homes
To capture the full depth of the celebration, our team divided into two groups, concurrently documenting the pre-wedding rituals at both the groom’s and bride’s ancestral Chettinad mansions. From the intricate Athangudi tiled courtyards and carved teak doorways to the sacred Kaluthiru (Chettiar Thali) exchange, every detail reflected the timeless elegance of Nagarathar culture.
